Federal taxes only. This model calculates federal income taxes only. It does not account for state income taxes, the Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT), ACA marketplace premium credits, Medicare cost-sharing, or any other federal, state, or local levies. Your actual tax situation may differ materially.
Simplified model. Tax brackets, standard deductions, IRMAA thresholds, and the RMD Uniform Lifetime Table are based on 2026 federal tax law and are held fixed throughout the projection (not inflation- indexed). Actual future tax law may change. SS taxability uses the statutory provisional-income thresholds, which have not been indexed for inflation since 1983. The model assumes both spouses are the same age (MFJ) and that all assets remain in the accounts until the end age.
Consult a qualified professional. A CPA, CFP, or tax attorney can model your specific situation — including state taxes, Roth conversion ladders, RMD aggregation rules, and estate planning implications — with far greater accuracy.
